50Hertz Transmission GmbH führt gemeinsam mit Amprion, TenneT und TransnetBW eine Marktkonsultation zur Weiterentwicklung von Mehrterminal-Systemen für die Hochspannungs-Gleichstrom-Übertragung (HGÜ) durch. Ein Fragebogen soll Hindernisse beim Wechsel von einem einzelnen Anbieter zu mehreren Anbietern ermitteln und die Einschätzung des Marktes einholen; es wird keine konkrete Liefermenge ausgeschrieben. Die Konsultation richtet sich an den deutschen Markt, und schriftliche Rückmeldungen sollen bis zum 31. August 2026 eingereicht werden.

In 2024, the four German TSOs (4GTSO) - 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, Amprion GmbH, TenneT TSO GmbH and TransnetBW GmbH - jointly concluded contracts, following an EU-wide procurement process, for the research and development of 525 kV Bipole HVDC single-vendor Multiterminal systems. This technology allows the flexible interconnection of multiple HVDC lines, so-called DC-Hub projects. Following this approach, the 4GTSOs are now aiming to take the next step in advancing the technology by transitioning from a single-vendor to a multi-vendor setup. As an initial step, the 4GTSOs intend to conduct a gap analysis as part of this market consultation to identify key blocking points related to this transition and to gather the market’s perspective.
