Das Fraunhofer-Institut für Mikrostruktur von Werkstoffen und Systemen (IMWS) schreibt die Lieferung einer Umspul- und Schneidemaschine für unidirektionale, faserverstärkte Kunststoffbänder (UD-Tapes) aus. Die Maschine soll Bänder aus Glas-, Carbon- oder Basaltfasern in verschiedene Breiten von 3 mm bis 100 mm konfektionieren. Das Projekt wird durch den Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) gefördert.

At the Fraunhofer pilot plant center, UD tapes (unidirectional, continuous-fiber-reinforced films) in widths of 50 mm and 100 mm are manufactured and tested for development purposes. These tapes are used in winding processes as well as in 2D/3D lay-up methods for reinforcement and load distribution of a wide variety of components. For these applications, it is necessary to convert the UD tapes into widths of 3 mm, 9 mm, ½", as well as 50 mm and 100 mm. This functionality shall be provided by the rewinding and slitting machine. Glass, carbon, and basalt fibers are used as reinforcement materials. The matrix materials consist of various thermoplastics.
Das Fraunhofer-Institut IMWS in Halle sucht eine spezialisierte Maschine, um faserverstärkte Kunststoffbänder (sogenannte UD-Tapes) präzise auf verschiedene Breiten zuzuschneiden und umzuspulen. Diese Bänder werden in der Forschung für die Herstellung von Bauteilen verwendet, die beispielsweise mit Glas- oder Carbonfasern verstärkt sind. Die neue Anlage muss in der Lage sein, Materialien mit unterschiedlichen thermoplastischen Eigenschaften zu verarbeiten. Der Auftrag wird zu 90 Prozent über den Preis und zu 10 Prozent über Nachhaltigkeitskriterien bewertet.
